1. Renew the lease, throw an extra $50 bucks at the landlord per month to make it a month to month lease, that way you won't feel trapped.

2. Have girlfriend move in.

3. Condoms, more than you'l think you need, in various locations around the apartment.

4. Plan a vacation for the winter months to where you think you might like to live in the West coast.

5. Slowly start discussions with your boss about your possible move in a year help him come up with the idea of your working remotely if possible.

6. Condoms.

7. If the GF can't get on board with this she is a flake and probably wants a sidekick on her West Coast adventure and not a long term relationship.

8. Have your best longest friend spend some time around the GF. Ask for honest feedback.

9. No engagement or discussion of such until you have dated for at least 365 days.

You are young and dumb, we all were, enjoy it!

Not the most romantic reason, either.

Deadlines make people do stupid things.

Sounds like the GF wants you to finance her dreams of going out west without any job prospects. Sounds like a recipe for success.

Why are you setting yourself up for failure? What a horrible idea.

Don't do it. Get more experience at your current job before you decide to move to the west coast, where there are a lot more candidates for these types of jobs.

Am I the only one that thought this was posted so everyone could be entertained at a later date? I mean...you can't be serious OP...

If you are, keep your job and then let the rest of that mess go.

The west coast will still be there next year.

Save all your extra money (in fact, get a second job so that you can save more money), decide where you want to live & get a good job in that city and if you are still together with your GF (which I highly doubt will be the case) move out west in a year or two.
