Some are fake and some are not. If in doubt, google it.

If U.S. employers checked their degrees, more Americans would have jobs instead of the chaos we now have.

India Institute of Technology (IIT) is "supposed" to be one of the more competive to get in to from what I have been told. However, doing your own classwork is optional. I have also been told that college entry is based on a test taken in high school and the lower your caste, the better your admission chances.

This is correct. It's a type of Affirmative Action, Indian style.

It's also why it makes me crack up when people think everything relates back to "the caste system". It does, but not necessarily in the way you'd think.

Agree. Would also add the Philippines is another country with questionable standards. I've worked with a few nurses with degrees from there....a couple were found to have fake documentation and sent packing. It's become a problem in California and other countries as well:

Not really. At the end of the day, jobs are about competence. That's not an area where America shines.

My bad, missed that one. Yup, you're right, there will always be good and less good institutions.

Is it a quota only system or do you get some bonus points instead? The latter is not that bad. At least, if it's provided only when you take the exam for the first time.

Some of them are. I busted a candidate's resume one time when I verified his "degree" and found out it was a diploma mill.
