https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/questio...2195803AAlMd9t just reading this on yahoo answers and they are talking about the longest shifts they have done and they are mentioning 35-40 hours shifts so just wondering what is the longest shift you have ever done?

The longest shift I did without going home or going off to sleep, 17 hour straight work. Only got paid 8 hours out of that 17 hour shift. Sucks to be on salary!

18 hours in my old job from years ago. Supervision of the store all day and the store move a short distance away after. Did many 12-16 hour shifts over the years sometimes several days in a row.

16 hours. It was a "snow day," so my relief couldn't make it to work.

I did a 20 hour overnighter at a law firm once. I could have slept 24 hours straight after that.

16 hours and it was miserable. I can't imagine doing any more than that. And this was office work.

Military, so it's a little different, but 36 hours was my longest at an NTC rotation. I was pretty worthless after about 20 hours, but did the complete watch.

Deployment was consistently 16-17 hour days with a half day off per week for a year. Wouldn't want to do that again!

22 hours...stuck in a hospital during a storm this year. Never again, but the pay was incredible!
