It's happened to other co-workers, happens quite frequently, sexual allegations directed at CNA's. Been working as a CNA for 12 years, and it finally happened! What then happens? You're immediately suspended for 3 days, must come in to meet with the Director of Nurses, for her to write down your story.

With these events, the State Board gets involved as well as the police. It can happen to both female and male CNA's, and one time even the Director of Nurses was suspended with sexual allegations!

Long-term Care/Rehab facilities are hotbeds of litigation of all kinds. It's never-ending, and the owners of these facilities had well have a good staff of attorney's to defend themselves. Someone falls out of bed one night, ends up being bruised, family visits, and what may the resident claim: My aide got rough with me last night!

And, what's behind so many of these charges? $$$$$$$! The hope that someone can bring a lawsuit against the facility and win some $$$!

My male co-worker has gone thru this 6X already and always cleared of charges, and we both : We're both Gay, and here's some 70-80YO woman accusing us of making sexual advances, sexual inappropriate behavior!

At the turn of the last century, as I have read, in hospitals, only male nurses could attend to male residents, and female to female. That could certainly cut down on these incidents, altho not completely, as this female CNA had sexual allegations leveled against her from female residents!

Working in these low-paid institutions is a walk on eggs every minute you're there. Talk to loudly to a resident and they may misinterpret it as yelling at them, and you can get called in on that. No matter how gentle you may treat a certain residents, there's a few that that will claim you were being rough with them, and you can get called in on that! How many claim they put the call light on 4 hours ago for help, and nobody came to help them! I've even overheard residents telling a family member: I had the call light on all night long and nobody came! And you get a call in on that!

Anyone considering working as a low-paid masochist that enjoys walking on eggs for 8-12 hours, this is the job for you! My days of doing this work are coming to an end!

For 10 years I worked in a computer company, only dealing with computers, so there was never any worry about some computer bringing allegations against me! I have a friend who's a teacher, and yikes! What they don't go thru with allegations! Yup! The problems with working too close with people!

From what I understand, nurses as a whole are constantly sexually harassed by doctors/physicians...
I was disgusted when I stumbled upon some crap that one of my wife's clients (a podiatrist) would leave as comments in work-related notes, despite the fact she had told him she was married and to stop that nonsense.
Needless to say, I intervened. But my understanding is that the majority of doctors do this...
