Thanks for posting this; it gave me hope as I take temp jobs where I currently live to save up and gain some experience to finally be able to move. I hope you're doing well, Jade.
After my temp assignment, I worked as a security guard on the night watch. It was creepy being the only person in an empty warehouse with nobody to talk to. I quit after 2 months.
That sounds highly appealing, actually. Shame about the low pay and lack of respect inherent to that kind of work.

Take your optimistic BS and shove it. There are many, many more of us now
that understand that the system is terminally corrupt and bankrupt, and we won't
be silenced anymore.
By being an optimistic serf, you basically
perpetuate this system well beyond its natural expiration date. Best to slack
off or better yet let's all get on welfare. By draining the system, we can
bring it down, and let the world pass to the Europeans, Russians, and Chinese,
as it should have done
already.

You can sit around waiting for the game to change. Or you can use the game to your advantage and try to change it. Go ahead and retreat to serfdom. I'd rather be a trojan horse.

Um no. Welfare systems can be dramatically cut. Apparently you don't remember the reforms of the 1990's do you?
If you want to slack off go ahead but it just means more for the rest of us.
