So I talked to a friend of mine who is an accountant and after showing her all the emails between myself and my former boss and being told what had transpired between us she explained to me that the only reason for him to demand from me a W-4 on such short notice like that under the great rush he demanded it when I'm a 1099 worker on contract is that he's running two sets of books, and either milking the taxes from his workers or the stores they are working in, and pocketing the cash for himself. There is no other reason for him to demand a W-4 from a 1099 worker, and the guy is indeed doing something very shady. A W-4 has nothing at all to do with insurance as he stated, but only with taxes withheld, and that does not happen at all with a contract job and a 1099 form.
She advised me to notify the IRS of this supplying them all of the emails that passed between us, which I will do.
The guy is a crook plain and simple, which is why he got so mean and nasty with me when I questioned him on these matters. I shall take great pleasure in speaking with the IRS about his practices.
If he has been cooking the books and the IRS ends up recovering back taxes from him, you can get up to 30% as an award if they use info you provide.
