Refill my coffee and get back to work.

I would ask payroll. At a previous job, I had coworkers who were paid too much for six months, then were docked the amount they were paid back. It's best to get the error cleaned up ASAP, no matter who was favored.

If I am on salary, I would contact payroll.
If I am horly, I woild talk to my manager first. Maybe he/she forgot to approve my time sheet?

The companies I have worked for in the past issued a second check for the balance of the payroll that was due and the next check 2 weeks later was the proper amount.
If it is a payroll error then the company should correct the error immediately however, each company has their own policy regarding this issue.

FYI, B is highly unlikely. Unless you agree to B, the company can be liable for 2.5x the overdue payroll. While laws vary by state, they don't vary much in that regard.

Email the payroll & copy your manager to the email. Clerical errors happen & can be sorted out in your next paycheck

I will straight forwardly ask for my rightful payment . Why should one hesitate to ask for something you deserve?? If someone forget just remind them what's the big deal.
