6 years ago, when my daughter was a senior in high school, one of her classmates was set to go to Harvard... but Facebook offered him $140K to just go work for them. He's been working for Facebook ever since. No college degree.

Tech recruiting is pretty lucrative right now. My daughter's friend graduated from college 1.5 years ago - anthropology degree from a Cal State campus - and is now making over 100K a year recruiting engineers for high tech companies in San Francisco.

thinking back, my parents born in the mid 1900s didn't make 6 digits until like age 35-40+. so based on this, in 20 years, will undergraduates have their first job after graduation pay 6 digits?
That's the beauty of getting a college degree
But Rush Limbaugh will tell you that you don't need one

Rewards don't reflect this for the artists because they don't generate revenue. If they did, they would make more. There is a direct correlation. The more successful they become, sold out concerts, big selling albums, and the artists get paid. If no one wants to pay to hear them or buy their music, why would they make big money?

The same does go for a LOT of careers, even engineers. If they can't do their job, can't produce, then they will not get paid much, or kept on board.

Just because someone is talented as something, it doesn't mean they deserve a lot of money if their talent doesn't generate revenue or isn't desired by companies, because it can generate revenue.

Most kids late 20s who are married are making 200K a year jointly.

Where on earth are you all getting your information from? As a person in their 20's, I am currently unemployed and know many in my situation or who are underemployed working as servers or in retail with college degrees. Whoever you hear of making lots of money are clearly exceptions - not the norm. I'd love to be making even 50K a year. That's a dream for me.

That's quite a crazy statement. I know lots of late 20s couples who make nowhere near this or nowhere near half this even so I'm doubtful that most do.

They make a small amount because they want to make a small amount. Guess puffing on bongs during HS and Community college does not lead to much.

That doesn't change the fact that most aren't making what you claim.

Can you point me to some statistics showing that most late 20 something couples take in 200k?

I'm guessing the average in the USA is more like 50-60k.
