Yes, whining about whiners. If you want something and are willing to work to get it (you can still scrub toilets if you don't ask for more money than what the hotel is offering). I'll just make it short and sweet, Jimmy Carter was president when I started working on my college education. 12% mortgage interest rates, no gasoline, etc. etc. You'll have to decide whether there was a recession going on.

This isn't the first recession or depression in the past century that's messed with peoples' lives:

So things have changed and it's hard to find a job. If you made bad decisions (like taking out big student loans to fund a totally rad degree in something like journalism, urban studies, fashion design, or theater), swallow your pride, figure out how you're going to make things work over the long haul, and do what's needed to dig out. And lose the "you older generations had it so easy" mantra. Do you seriously think you're the first generation who's faced hard times, or had to make choices they felt were "beneath them"? The world doesn't owe you anything. Success, like respect, needs to be earned.
