If an employer tells you that you're costing him more money than he's making, what does that mean?

Does it mean that you're a terrible employee that's not doing a good enough job?

You're a liability. You're dragging him down. He needs to get rid of you.

You know this, based on previous threads, I think.

Means you need to ask the boss what you can do to justify your position.

Or you need to start looking for another job.

Means that if a person can't understand basic english, then they are probably of no good to any employer.

I would think it means the employee's days are numbered at that employer. And the number is a small one.

To be fair to the OP, I was told this a while back at a really crappy job. The company was billing my time out at between $95 and $130 per hour and paying me $12 per hour. There was no healthcare, 401k, PTO or anything. I was billing between 35 and 45 hours a week depending how busy we were. Apparently he thought it would motivate me.

It can mean that you will be looking for another job soon because you are either underqualified for the position or you did not catch on to the specific duties of the position and you have not improved your performance during the time you have been employed with that company.

Either you are not efficient enough, he needs to raise prices, or his/her business is becoming obsolete.
