I was contact by a company I applied to this week for a quality control technician or quality control associate job that is about 2 hours away from where I live. They ask me if I am wiling to relocate and when I can come in for an interview, but they haven't disclose the salary range. I checked pay scale and the range is between $24,650 - $63,383. Relocating won't be problem if the salary is high enough. Any suggestions about how I should reply to the email about relocating? Should I just say yes and go to the interview. If the salary isn't high enough I can decline the job offer.

You hit the nail on the head. If you are open to relocating tell them that. It doesn't obligate you to take an offer in the future if it is too low to be worth your while.

Yeap, agree. Just say yes, since you are open to it and see how it goes.

Say yes and negotiate salary when/if you get to that stage.

Best of luck

Why would you need to relocate for a job that is 2 hours away? In some areas a job that is technically a half hour away can take two hours if traffic is bad enough alone.

But here is the thing; you applied to the position knowing that it was two hours away to begin with. What ever went through your mind at that time is your answer.

Not even sure why this question came up unless they want to relocate you even farther.

It's better to apply for all jobs around the country and relocate or work in the same city. I have been hired for jobs 3 hours away. I know people hired a thousand miles away.

I agree. Then see if you are invited to interview for the job. It's one thing to relocate and start a new job. It's totally different to have received that email, respond you are open to relocating and never get called by them for an interview.

Good luck, I hope this works for your best in all ways.

A 2 hour commute or 4 hours of traffic each day? I would rather kill myself

Yes, interview now and negotiate about relocating later.
