Ok, here's my take on it:

I was a young man of 27 who suddenly found himself with a bride, and she suddenly found herself to be with child. In other words, I had responsibilities. Like most other 27-year-olds, I didn't have enough savings to buy a business, and knew I didn't want to be in debt. The job I'd had since college did not pay enough to support a family. And I lived in a state where good jobs were really hard to find.

So I got a job with the state paying good money, but it was an office job, and I hated it. How I got that job was another whole story, but the upshot was that I had to get out of there, for my sanity. I was determined to stay until I had my family on a sound financial footing. I began to spend my days talking with higher-ranking state officials about how trucking contracts were awarded.

I made my plans. I always drove a pickup, and was able to buy a (very) used dump truck to go along with it. I also got some young neighborhood guys to help me part-time, and once I got my first state contract, I was on my way. I still remember it: deliver 35 truckloads of rip-rap (rocks) to a road construction site. I made enough to get another used dump truck, and quit that job as well.

I never looked back. At the peak of that business, we had 17 trucks of various sorts in 3 different states, 18 employees, and grossed well over a $8 million per year. It was not a huge business, but it sure paid the bills well. It got me out of that stifling office, and supported my family very well.

The OP needs to learn something about business (contracts, accounting, financing, marketing, etc) and to do some networking. You may have to start small and move up. You also need to develop an eye for spotting opportunity. It's all around you.

Er no. That's not what your first post said, perhaps you should re-read it. As for what business to start, it really depends on your skill set. For example, if you have carpenter experience, you could start a handyman/construction business. Concentrate on smaller jobs until you have enough cash saved to tackle larger projects. There are hundreds of businesses you can start, but they all boil down to your skill set. So what are you good at, what kind of work do you have experience in.

Corner store, service sector (lawn care, tree cutting, etc.), or rental property in non-HCOL areas. Heck even where I live you only need about $250,000 in order to buy a small house and rent it out (or even airBNB).

Tailor
Embroidering
All of which require skills, you can hardly start a business as a financial consult when you haven't a clue what the difference between stocks and bonds are.

LOL, No one is going to just "Give / Loan" you money because you have a dream of owning a business. If you had 20 years experience managing a very successful restaurant, you might find youself an investor to open your own business. (they are fronting the cash and you the experience) but short of that, your just another smuck with a dream with no idea how to make it reality.

The types of businesses I want to be able to start one day are Internet Service Provider (wired if still relevant), mobile phone network (like AT&T or Verizon or Sprint), mobile networks could replace wired Internet one day, some people NOW rely on mobile Internet alone, the other type of business I want to start is a TV Show/Movie Streaming service like Netflix or Hulu Plus or Amazon Prime.
Why do you want to start again? Why don't you try buying AT&T or Netflix or Amazon ? that's easier right?

I am planning to buy SpaceX next year so join me if you like.

Or another option to become an Illegal immigration attorney. That business will be in demand in the next few years.
