I don't mean someone like a student going for his Ph.D in a niche field. I mean jobs that involve looking things up or trying to find whats wrong in order to solve a problem.
Agreed tax. You get some good basic research skills in tax jobs. Then you start to get frustrated that the SAME situation is handled DIFFERENTLY all the time.
Another way to look at it is a job where you gather information so someone else can use it such as a co-worker or customer.
