It would depend on the specifics for me. I live in Denver, and there are no other major cities within 100 miles. I prefer living someplace with theaters, museums, professional sports teams, an international airport. If I was in a different location, where 100 miles away would still get me to a location that I liked, I might consider it.
However, at this point in time, I live near to my widowed mother. She's doing ok now, but I wouldn't move that far away from her.
Maybe, all depends on where I would be moving to. 100 miles north of where I live now puts me in North Jersey, even with a 50% raise, it be impossible to maintain my current life style. Where I live now I have huge house on a 2 1/2 acre lot and same house if located in North Jersey would cost at least 4 to 5 times as much. 100 miles west on the other hand puts me in Lancaster county PA, I believe I could find a similar house for about the same money.
Interesting question. That would be a nice $$ bump indeed, but nope, I wouldn't do it.
I've got one kid leaving for college, one who is going to be a senior in high school and a new one on the way. No way I would upset the nest right now. Plus I really like it where we live.
I took a job 80 miles from my old apartment for that increase (actually, more than that.) I moved so I was 34 miles from my new office, within two months. I'm in the NYC metro though...commuting is a way of life.
Yes.. assuming the job is secure. My current job is secure.. assuming I do not quit I could still be working here 30 years, even through a full blown economic depression I'd still be employed there.
