I always say "good morning" or "good night" to the one guy that I know HATES it. Makes him squirm and seethe. Love it.

As far as everyone else, I do it if the opportunity presents itself, but I don't go out of my way to do it.

I have not worked in quite awhile. But when I did I said hello to anyone I encountered between the front door and my office, the only person I sought out to say hello to was my boss.

Pffft. No.

And if there were someone who said good morning to me every single day, I would find that annoying.

As a manager, with only 6 direct reports, I make a point of greeting them every morning, as I walk around to make sure they have all showed up. Since they all start at different times it also gives me some good exercise. For other co-workers in the vicinity, and my boss, I will greet them if and when I run into them.

Yes, of course. And I say it to random people I see walking their dogs in our neighborhood, too. Even if I saw them the morning before.

I'm the one that walks down the hall and when I pass someone in the hall, I always say, 'Good Morning - Good Afternoon - Good Evening" - whatever is time appropriate.

I am an engineer and I work with a lot of stuck up people who think they're rocket scientists (lol)...
We ARE rocket scientists... but anyway...

One day last week, I was walking down the hall - passed a guy I see all the time. I said, 'Good Morning, Ted'... and got a distant stare - no reply.... THAT was my trigger point...

I carried on a conversation with myself the rest of the way down the hall...
"I'm doing fine, Tom... thanks for asking..."
"Glad to, Ted... How's the wife and them?"
"Oh they're doing great...thanks for asking. How's everything going with you?"

By this time, dear ol' Ted was out of sight...
The next time I saw him in the hall? He started the conversation with, 'How's it going Tom?"... to which I replied - all the while laughing inside... MISSION: ACCOMPLISHED!... lol

just to specify, i'm not talking about passing someone in the hallway. i *ALWAYS* say hello when passing someone in the hallway or seeing them in the kitchen or the copy room.

i'm talking about when you FIRST walk into work... do you make it a point to go to everyone and say hello. Since i'm in a small office with only 8 people with everyone having their own office, sometimes i just go straight to my office/desk and start working rather than walking around and saying hi to everyone... this sometimes leads to me not speaking to anyone until the afternoon. but now that i'm thinking of it, no one comes around to say hi to me either, so i don't know why i'm making this a big deal lol

I say hello to my coworkers when I see them during the course of the day. I don't go around the office greeting everyone. I'm also and introvert but this seems pretty normal in my office.

Anyone say hello/good morning (afternoon) twice or more to the same person just because you aren't sure if you said it later in the day when you meet them?

Or I ask them the same question, how was your weekend, etc because I forgot who I asked already?

I do because of my belief that there are 2 types of people.
Those that bring joy and happiness when they come into a room,
and those that bring joy and happiness when they leave.
