Thanks for the link. Seems like a lot of Americans fear to be replaced or miss out on promotions when taking free time. Especially when working for smaller businesses.
Wouldn't you think if a worker gets a few weeks off, he'd be more productive and efficient in what he's doing? I'd think a company would get better results when it's workers are rested and clear headed.

I am starting off with 18 days PTO + 6 paid holidays. I can borrow against the time up to 10 days, so I don't have to wait to accrue it. Can only carry over 4-5 PTO days.

PTO will step up in year 2 and eventually max out to 6.5 weeks at the beginning of the 5th year of service.

It can NOT be carried over. It all expires Dec. 31st.

It can NOT be "cashed in" if unused.

If you take all of it, you'll average 150 hours of work per month over the course of a year (assuming you work 8 hours in a work day).
Update!

The 22 vacation days + 6 sick days is now 28 days of Paid Time Off, with the opportunity to carry over up to 5 unused days to the following year.

I currently get 19 vacation days, 12 sick days and 13 paid holidays. This is after 10 years.
I have accrued 160 hours of vacation and 600 hours of sick time. Sick time can be used to pay for health coverage at retirement.

I'm starting a new job in a month, will get 15 vacation days, 13 sick days, 13 paid holidays and 5 more floating holidays.
