Underpaid, overworked, and never ever appreciated. And changing jobs, or companies, won't change any of that. It's the industry, the level of attainment that i have, the region I work in, and the culture of corporate america.
overpaid! I got luck and received several promotion that got me the salary I earn now. If I were to look else where for job, I doubt I will find anything that matches my current salary. Maybe I don't believe in myself yet. I still feel like a newbee who doesn't know anything even after 8 years in the company. I am not as productive as I can be, most times I feel bad but I am just a slacker. There are times when I do put in my 100% but that's when I feel burned out and realize I am not paid enough to be stressed out this much. There are many people worst off than me so I am not complaining.
Paid exactly as I deserve, namely what the market will pay me.
I produce more value than I cost.
How do I FEEL abut what I am paid?
Every other day I feel underpaid and every other day I feel overpaid. However that is feeling not reality.
My Other Half {MOH} is a state adjunct worker. MOH WAS paid at a rate 78% over minimum, now without a raise for a long time-and the rise of minimum wages-is now only 25% over minimum...and with the new minimum wage for the CITY at $15/hr for fast-food workers, MOH is now NOT quite equal to them.
So YOU decide how MOH feels.
MOH works with special needs people, some of whom have higher "incomes and state allowances" than MOH makes!
AND MOH is stressed somedays, as the people don't always follow "norms" like you and me.
Same for me, and I am not state adjunct. I haven't had but a tiny raise in the last 3 years.
I am looking for a second income, too. And MOH already works a second job, too.
COL here is fairly low, but expenses are high.
I don't feel underpaid. I think I am paid decent, and my pay is going to double, so I might end up feeling overpaid if my skill level doesn't meet it.
However, outside of work, I feel extremely underpaid. The cost of living is insane. If I were in a small, no name town, making this much, I'd be living like a king. In a city, I'm consistently broke after paying bills.
Eh - both. Some days a monkey could do my job, and I feel like I get paid way too much, then TSHTF and I'm just as positive I'm underpaid.
I'm actually paid on the high side for what I do, which is nice because I spent many years being underpaid (based on what data I could find), but a few job changes has tipped the scales the other way. Now there are not many places I could go where I could make what I do now (without a career change).
Underpaid compared to market for my skills and level of responsibility.
