Do most big employers check driving records? I know most check your credit scores, etc.

A DUI is a misdemeanor. It is not a traffic violation like running a stop sign.

Our employees are required to disclose DUIs and if not expunged or dismissed do result in termination.

I know a girl who lied on her application about a DUI and she was hired, but the company then recinded the job offer after they ran a background check.

The job did not involve driving and was in New York City where she would take public transit.

Your best bet is to immediately switch you DL to another state.

Also I hope you did not volunteer you SS # to the arresting police agency when you got caught. If you did, then it's on your NDR record forever.

The police have no right to your SS#, so always remember, if they ask for it, to give them a fake one.

Only your employer and the IRS are entitled access to your SS#, not the police, not the electric company or cable company.

Duh.

The key here.. She lied. Now.. How would it have gone if she had been upfront about it?

Some places still won't hire.. But, it's almost a guarantee that you'll be canned if you're caught lying about it.
