Some jobs are, some not.

Ban together form some kind of minimum wage earners group - then strike and or picket outside said businesses? ? Kinda like the group that called themselves "Occupy Wallstreet" just dont sell out like the leaders of this group ??Why need to pay unions to represent when they can end up being corrupt as heck? Stand up for yourself and eachother by forming your own union of sorts.
The minimum wage managers will just throw all of them out and have a new crew happy and willing to work in no time. It's only a small minority of people who are trying to make careers out of minimum wage jobs. Most people who work at Mickey D's are just transient workers like high school/college students, second job, etc.

Lots of good ideas already mentioned in this thread, but another problem is see is when the CEO of a company is making $15mil/year along with a $10mil bonus, yet the employees are making minimum wage.

It is pretty scary how easily manipulated Americans can be

To the OP, its gonna take for you to get out of Michigan. Here in LA my industry just got a 10% raise and honestly I think I was being fairly compensated before that

Im at an age now where I beileve peope choose to make minimum wage. Getting off the absolute bottom often requires education and many folks are too lazy to go through it. You may need connections to get to the top persay, but no need to be on the bottom making the minimum forever unless you have a diagnosed mental issue or you're in the USA illegally. Somebody has to be at the bottom for capitalism to work. Just make sure its not you

It seems to me that a 20th-century-style middle-class plurality was unstable and a historical anomaly. Markets are driven by profit and competition - not fairness, justice or morality. It is impossible to make them such, as efforts at tinkering tend to only exacerbate injustices, or introduce monstrous new ones.

There is a vituperative mob that believes that we have high inflation, largely because "inflation" to them is college tuition, healthcare and perhaps groceries. Real inflation is very low. And that perhaps is our main economic problem at present.

I'd approach the question from the opposite direction: why are medical doctors so highly compensated? There have been many attempted strategies at driving down the cost of healthcare. I say that the key problem has not been seriously broached by anyone: medical doctors (especially specialists) just make too much. If we "import" more doctors – immigrants with solid medical training – and set them up to practice medicine in America – we can let the market take care of exorbitant medical salaries.

I think you're only going to see substantial raises for a smaller and smaller percentage of the population as "grunt" work becomes increasingly automated, and eventually this is going to move up the skill chain.
