Bare minimum begs definition. Employers should have a job description for what you are hired to do. As long as you do those things and are protected by state labor laws the company cannot fire you unless they find some unscrupulous way to get you (and they will try, for sure).
In the trucking world, everything here's supposed to be merit based.
Do more loads per day in a shorter, safer amount of time, and you'll obviously get more pay.
But other than that, there really is no sort of "upward mobility" for productivity increases.
Why should you get fired or punished for doing bare minimum? As long as you're doing your job even at bare minimum, you're satisfying your job. I've seen too many people who do less than minimum get promoted. It's mostly about how good of a a$$ kisser you are.
does this question really need to be asked? Seriously, there are some ridiculous posts on this forum that make think unemployment is not just due to the economy.
