Good. He needs to get hit where it hurts. I've known several people who work in these environments and wage theft appears to be pretty common. I did a little work off the clock when I worked for a pizza chain, but the manager offered compensation in the form of free food, which I took instead of forcing the money issue. A clear and harsh message needs to be sent to managers and owners who screw people over, especially when they are poorly paid to begin with.
The law is pretty clear in this case. The owner broke the law and must pay for it.
60 days in jail is not near what he deserves. He was convicted of misdemeanor wage theft for stealing $230,000 from his employees. That should be a felony and he should be doing at least year in prison, not jail.
