Hello City Data Forum,
I had recently lost my stable job and my temporary job and I had $0 source of income for a few days. For two straight days I applied to over 12 jobs and I landed four interviews and got three of them.

I'm currently employed at fast food place, a driver at a fast food place and at a Japanese restaurant.

Job #3 -
The Japanese Restaurant pays under the table. Essentially you get $3.50 an hour and you get 90% of the tips. Some days I get $88 in tips, some days $25 and such. The catch is that you have to work 11 hours a day on weekdays and 10 hours on weekends. Essentially over 75 hours a week and no overtime. At this moment they are under staffed so I'm able to get these hours and time. The people are very strict and don't speak english that well but they feed me with free food as well as having that family aspect. They are flexible that they are okay with me working the other jobs in the meantime. I guess until they find a replacement of me. One of the managers is going vacation and I'll be taking his hours. When they return, I will lose my time as a server and will go in the backroom doing kitchen, dishwashing and cooking work. On the brightside: I see it as an internship as I've never worked at a Japanese restaurant but at the same time it's not enough to pay the bills. I'm not experiencing in serving, cooking or anything. They are training me with all these things.

Schedule is set in stone.

Should I stay at this job to gain experience? If so, how long? It's stable income of about $300/week to $450 a week depending on tips but you work 75 hours. No tax deductions. Winter is coming as well so there's going to be essentially somewhat of a spike and less customers. You get all the income since it's under the table.

Job #2
The fast food place pays me minimum wage of $8.10 and I recently got 11 hours a week this week and next week for only 5 hours. They said that the reason were getting a lot of hours is because we're new and when we're done training, we get less hours. 11 hours is a lot? Yikes. $81 income, but probably going to be closer to $70/week with the tax deductions. But I only work 10 hours and I get to search for other jobs as well as have more free time. The downside is that this store manager said that this job must be the primary and the other job must go around the schedule. I have to keep this job or job #3. I can't have both. Job #3 can be flexible for me, but I'm not sure for how much longer.

Job #1
Landed a job making $20/hr as a driver. I don't have a car yet. I'm about to spend $2,000 on a car and a $90/mo payment. The manager said he will give me a start of 25 hours a week up to 35 hours. Haven't worked a day here yet.

I'm planning on leaving job #1 and job #2 for #3.

Any other pros, cons and thoughts?

Job #3 will also open up opportunities such as Uber. But again, I have to spend $2,000 upfront, and a monthly payment on the $90/mo lease on a car.

Can't beat the driving job. If it doesn't work out you can always find another restaurant job.

no plans to get skilled jobs?

those jobs you listed aren't ones you want to be doing after a year or two as main job. sure extra income but not secure enough to be decent career
