A little back story first. I've been at my job a year and this other person 10 months. You are supposed to get a lap top after about a year in (using desktops until then) and she got hers before me? I've been here a year, never late or called in. Do twice the work. She has had attendance problems until she was told she had to be here. I've been told I'm a great employee and had a great review and she gets a laptop first? mine they said "hasn't come in yet" also my supervisor and manager are helping her get it all set up and nobody even acknowledges that I don't have one yet. Nobody else has ever gotten theirs before someone who has been their longer except for me. It's really upsetting.

My first question...What does having a laptop add to your career?

Next question...Do you guys need different types of laptops for your job?

No she is older and heavy. Not about looks.

No we do the same job.

The laptop is a perk so you can work from home if you need to.

Then, maybe, they feel she is ready to work from home, and you aren't yet.

You don't need a right to be angry.
You can be angry at anything at anytime for any reason -- even stupid things like a coworker getting a laptop before you did.

It's possible that her attendance problems are due to a health issue. By giving her a laptop, it might allow her to work from home on days where otherwise she'd call in sick.

Trust me there isn't a health issue. She only does half the work I do also.

I also got a 5% raise and a great yearly review and I'm the only one that they didn't have a year celebration for. Everyone else got donuts or whatever. I didn't even get acknowledged.

What's your cup size? What's hers? All joking aside, the world is NOT fair. Adjust to it.
