Not sure why I am nervous. So a tech left and my department is looking for a part time/per diem tech. I figure I have a good rapport with my manager and I emailed her asking about possibility of going from 24 to 32. Not sure why that makes me nervous. I mean they gave me good reviews my manager and coworkers for my review. I just don't feel deserving of it, and I dwell on the negative worrying instead asking my manager was the wrong thing get myself in trouble.
I am going to also prep information for a side project I told my manager was interested in starting so have some reason why I should go to 32 hour's.
Also guess concerned because of scheduling. There's 2 day shifts during the week I can't work during the Spring/Fall. Then in 2 years possibly have to drop back to 24 to focus on school and pick up additional hours when I can.
Appreciate any insight or suggestions to help with my nerves for tomorrow.
So was unable to increase my hour's. The explanation was kind of bizarre. From manager: "If there was another slot open I be able to increase your hour's, but it is a 24 hour position that needs to fill will seek out by senority. Of those interested you should be first in senority. Will try to give you extra hours when available."
