Regardless of the fact that a person may be completely unqualified and unequipped to do that job? What is the reasoning for this? This is the workforce, it isn't american idol or America's Next top Model. Why should looks matter at ALL really outside of freaking hollywood?

Today??

The attractive have been favored forever. But not those who are "completely unqualified." I've rarely seen an attractive person who was "completely unequipped" succeed.

That's just you using hyperbole again.

Why do you assume that it is different today than it was in the past?

Yes it's been that way for eons.

I'm sure if you asked your grandpappies about bosses favoring hot young females based on their looks alone and not job performance/qualification, they'd have stories to tell too.

Do you really expect to see the beautiful people mowing your lawn or picking up garbage?

I think it is because employers place to much emphasis on customer service.

At least in my field,Nursing, that is the way it is.

Also, men and women seem to place equal importance on looks.

Just wanted to get that out of the way, because it is always assumed men did that, but the women these days are just as bad as men in assuming an employee looks attractive.

I have had more women demean my weight more than men,but that could be because nursing is primarily made up of women.
