I've seen this done frequently.
The farmer's markets we go to all accept credit/debit cards.
If you want to be paid in cash, hang out with the other day laborers in the parking lot at Home Depot. They generally get about $20/hour in our area, in cash.
Their plenty of jobs getting paid cash work for a sports team selling sport tickets they pay you based on commissionary which means CASH.

What about working in a restaurant? Tips! I worked in restaurants for years, and would get paid cash every night I worked. The paycheck would be bi-weekly. I was lucky enough to live in states where the state server minimum wage was higher than federal, so I always had a paycheck. Wasn't much (like $30-$50) but it was something extra.
Why do you want a legal job that pays cash? The only reasons that you would prefer cash are in and of themselves sketchy. Tax evasion is one reason you would prefer cash jobs, avoiding wage garnishments for things like unpaid child support would be another.
If either of those reasons are valid, just own up to your illegal motives and accept an illegal job.
