If this is salaried exempt work, I doubt most employers would have a problem.

But that's usually if you are already in the position, and have proven that you get your work done easily in the current time frame.

The OP wants to move up into a supervisory position AND change the hours for said new position.

Doubtful this will happen, in fact, they may just pass over the OP entirely if it's even brought up.

Our official hours are 8-5 with hour lunch, or 8-4:30 and half hour lunch. I work 6am-2:30, and am a manager. My staff report at various times from 7am to 10am, with set schedules based on their individual preferences. I agree with Convextech though, all of these arrangements have been made after people have been here and proven themselves.
If it's that important to you, use it in your negotiations if you get an offer. I would not bring it up before then.
