He's not the only slack-off our tax dollars are paying for. One reason I support smaller government. I know …he's a contractor. With any luck the department that hires his company could be eliminated all together, or at least cut back enough to matter to him.

So you had 3 days off, all the same day (Monday) within just 8 weeks? I wouldn't even consider that. We all know Mondays and Fridays are days employees call in sick more often than not. Pick other days or make your Mondays further apart. Such as taking a monday off in October then another one off at least a few months later.
Otherwise just pick other days to take off. I am not sure what is so upsetting?

What you are doing is not wrong, it is just obviously not working for the company.
Your pattern is one I wish I could emmulate. But it is so difficult to get time off here anyhow due to a lack of coveage that I end up taking my PTO when I really don't choose to such as the summertime. It's so hot here in summers that to sit at home and do nothing, well I could just be at work instead. Wintertime is MUCH Better and only during the months you listed, OCT-DEC do we have decent enough air quality to plan a recreational trip which involves exercise. Otherwise my husband hacks away and is already on a CPAP machine at night.
Your request is not out of line whatsoever. It's just 3 months. What could be is a self-entitlement mentality depending upon how you presented yourself. Good luck to you no matter what. Not being sick, and being on time should help you.
I'm not a monday person and always been taking mondays off in the fall and winter. I took two mondays off in September and requested another one the last Monday of October. Then I get a call from my supervisor saying my day maybe denied since I have a pattern of requesting mondays off. Huh? I thought a pattern only matters if you call out sick every other monday. So I requested to speak to HR and eventually I was told that was a rule by the old boss and I can now request any day off I want as long as I have the time.
I was about to explode because that had to be one of the stupidest rule I ever heard on a job concerning vacation days. plus I'm a person who never calls out sick and always on time and was going to be told I can't request days off even if I have the time? I been at this job for almost 3 years and this is the first time I ever been upset.
I would prefer working Tuesday to saturday and having every Monday off.
I prefer not to work but...
