I don't assume anyone has a degree unless they have a job that requires one, regardless of their age.

As far as "older people," All of my parents friends went to college. They are in their 70's.

I assume an applicant has a bachelor's (or any other) degree upon presentation of convincing evidence thereof, irrespective of age.

Outside of doctors and such than I do not care if someone has a degree or not, I judge based on their actual performance. Given that I have never even worried about whether they have a degree or not, let alone when you should assume they do.
