^^^^ This. Many insurances have a maximum for extended and/or long term care. The patient may have reached the plan maximum.

Why doesn't she call and get the reason?

Just not happening!

Unless you are self employed and have a HUGE write off (like Trump).
And then your CPA would need to work out something with the IRS.

Most CPA's would say pay it and get it back in a refund.

Refunds are like a interest free loan

The person can claim high deductions exemptions on the w4 form. They wont take any out but at tax time they can even out or pay little

It sounds like the insurance company is not covering treatment not that the job canceled the employee's health insurance.

Yeah cause right now one gets so much interest off our money.

You claim 10 deductions on a W4 and see what your HR dept does. All it might do is going to save you is federal tax for now. Not SS or medicare.

If you haven't paid in enough, you will get socked with penalties, interest, and an audit. Of which they will do for the next 7 years. Oh and CPA fees. at $350.00 per hour.

Death and taxes are two sure things. No one gets out of.

I claimed 10 before but at the end of the year I dont get anything back an may owe like underpayment of $60 it all evens out. Even now I claimed the highest so that i will have to owe like $50 or $60 dollars at the end of the year. Its either that or get a refund for $60. I rather owe

I always even out my taxes so i get the most on my paycheck and nothing at the end of the year

I could care less what your CPA charges. My taxes are paid!

Right now I claim 7 which Im entitled to per the sheet. I go a little higher so that I will even out at the end of the year

Health insurance is a FOR profit business. They only make money when you DONT use it. Employers have contracts with their employees. Some jobs have no contract and can terminate employment and benifits at will. They can also change or terminate health insurance at will. Survival of the fittest .
