When I left Enterprise Rent a Car, I was brutally truthful about the Manager, and how he allows damaged cars to be rented out, and if the renter doesn't notice, charges them for the damage that was already there when they turn in the rental. Not to mention cars that were not safe to drive (Former Tech and Licensed State Motor Vehicle Inspector)....no Brake Lights, Bald Tires and such. Manager still there
Enterprise tried to pull that on my daughter when she rented a car. Claimed damage when there was none while she had the car. She called and protested and they said, oh, a mistake, we mixed your file up with someone else. Lame story. She is young and pretty and I guess they figured dumb goes with that. I wonder how many people just fall for it and pay.
One has to choose their battles. There's retaliation, and The Boy who cried Wolf thing to remember. People at my job speak up, but management's best skill is BS ing, so you seldom get anywhere. Your best bet is to try and find a balance between speaking up too much and staying below the radar until you can get the hell out.
My sister works in HR for a major corporation. When personal voicemails were still relatively new, there was a situation with an employee that got fired. They didn't think to do anything about his voicemail message. So, after he got fired, he logged into the voicemail from home and changed the greeting to a scathing denunciation of the company. It took them two days to figure out how to change the password and deactivate the voicemail.
I know I shouldn't laugh but this IS kind of funny.
