Our year-end bonus system is pretty good. Typically it's 3-15% of your salary (depending on position) tied to a multiplier that ranges from 0.2 to 1.8. (1.0 is usually an on-target year)
So, if you were an engineer making 100,000 a year and got a 10% bonus, you would get a bonus of anywhere from $2K to $18K depending on the company performance for the year.
When I was a permanent employee of an aerospace company, we got great bonuses, lots of holidays and PTO, and I was there long enough to get three weeks of vacation, but I don't have that job anymore.
The interesting thing is that I've never worked at a company that gives a "Christmas Bonus." Companies have annual reviews and will give me an annual bonus based on performance and how the company is doing, but these reviews never land on Christmas, so I always get my bonus at other times of the year. It would be great to get a bonus at Christmas time since that is usually the time of the year I spend the most money.
Yes, I received 11% of base salary this year. Just was notified by my Director. We are due to
receive the $ next week.
