Never. I have always worked for the government, political subdivisions, or NPOs.

Same here, public agency, no bonus. I have gotten a week off without using my PTO (awarded time) twice, unrelated to holidays. Next week we have a party with "prizes" and food, paid for by the executives.

State employee, no bonus. The philosophy is that we get salary and benefits to do our job, anything above that amount is a waste of taxpayer money.

Always have. It is really an end of year bonus, and all my employers have had year end between 08-31 nd 10-31, so bonus was always 1.5-2 months later. New job pays it out in thirds.

no christmas bonus, but my job pays a bonus in march that amounts to $8k + $5k worth of restricted company stock no matter what my performance rating is.

Performance only affects the raise which ranges from 2% up to 4%

I'm self employed now so no bonus unless I give myself one.

I used to work in a small, private company, though, and every Christmas I got a cash bonus (usually $1,000), a gift (usually something small, like a Christmas ornament or a mug), and a first-of-the-year raise.

The company I just retired from paid a profit sharing every 3rd week of November which most considered a Christmas bonus. Value depends on your level. Past production associate bonuses ranged between $1500 to $5000 based upon sales and other performance factors. Management associates got a lot more with some managers getting $20k and up.

Usually, yes. Employers like to use them because they are often cheaper than giving raises. Yuck...

Bonus and restricted stock are issued in March. Bonus targets and stock amounts vary based upon grade level and performance. Bonus target is 18% which can be as high as 38% depending upon performance rating and company profitability. Last year was a good year for me, 33%. Stock is in the tank so the shares are down 20% in last 4 months.
