Same with me......only that occasionally overtime is allowed, just that the amount we can work is very limited.

As an employee, do you get paid Time and a Half for ANY holidays?

I was involuntary retired at end of last September due to a parent company taking us over 100%, BUT, when I was working we got paid 2.5x for holidays.

2.5 times for public holidays (double time for Sundays, 1.5 times for Saturdays) but I believe our company has changed it so that one only gets paid extra if one has already worked a full 40 hour work week. It's been a year since I worked a weekend.

2.5 pay if I work, or work for straight time and get an extra vacation day in future

Or, just be off and get a day's pay as usual

This is where Unions are helpful

Salaried professional. If I have to work on a holiday, which sometimes happens because our courts are sometimes open on recognized holidays, I would be entitled to take another day off.

In my current job a holiday worked is just like any other day. Years ago I had a Union job which would pay 1 day's pay for the holiday worked or not. If I worked that was time and a half with guaranteed 8 hour minimum. I used to love holidays. Double time and a half.

Generally any overtime is time and a half.
Holidays are really double time but no one works holidays!
I used to work a job that only paid comp time for overtime and that was 1 for 1. We had one supervisor who was pretty cool and would give us time and a half comp time but she really wasn't supposed to.

I get something like 10 paid holidays. If I work on those days I am either given comp time or am paid out at 2.5x my regular pay rate. I usually wind up working.

Salaried.

Double time for a holiday or if I pick up a shift from somebody else, double time and a half. I can also take comp time.
