Employer put out a memo reminding employees of appropriate work attire.
Flip flops are approved, but shower shoes are not.
What the heck is the difference??

I used to wear them a lot as a kid. I grew up in a house on a lake filled with leeches. My family and I would wear these whenever we swam, kayaked, or did anything near the water.

Wow! I worked for a fed. govt. agency which was, surprisingly, extremely liberal and laid-back when it came to attire, even though it was a white-collar office setting. Maybe because it was a HQ complex that wasn't directly involved with dealing with the public. At any rate, I doubt if even they would have allowed flip-flops.

If flip-flops are OK, what about barefoot ?

BTW, what kind of workplace is this ? Swimming pool lifeguard ?
I can't imagine OSHA is OK with this.

I'm just sad that it needed to be stated that "shower shoes" are not approved office attire. I'm surprised that flip flops are.

Maybe they just don't want people making their own prison-style shower ware?

And what the heck kind of business do you work for that allows flip flops?

Never seen the "shower shoes" before but my office is full of people in flip flops. I would interpret it to mean nicer leather type shoes rather than something like plastic.

Sandals are one thing; flip-flops quite another.

BTW, wonder what their code say about Crocs ? Crocs™ Official Site | Shoes, Sandals, & Clogs | Free Shipping - Crocs
