I worked in a data entry office where they played the same light rock/pop from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and today! It was pure torture because they'd play the exact same 40 or so songs everyday just in a slightly different order. I was near insanity when I left after just over a year.

This calls for passive aggression. Lock your computer when you leave. Change the station to something you like. When asked to change it back, change it back for 30 minutes or so.

I tried putting it on a different selection once for music and when I returned from lunch it was changed back.

I'm not one that enjoys having to listen to someone else's music all day and I can't wear headphones. Had I know this - I wouldn't have taken the job. I have thought about complaining but I'm not sure how that will go over. The 4 women here are a lot older than me and seem set in their ways. All the women are over 50, I'm 35.

Should I say something?
If you would have turned the job down then, why not quit now?

Something to remember, it is not your computer, it is the companies. If higher ups have decided that is the music and that is how it will be played, then that is how it is.

Just bring noise canceling headphones and listen to whatever you want.

If it's affecting your ability to work, then finding another job isn't so bad.

It sounds like you're out in the open and in display of people and may be welcoming clients/customers and working with other members of the team. I think it's an occupational hazard and you'll either have to deal with it or leave. Many office spaces have music on for clients/customers and it is what it is.
