My wife has a PRN (per request needed) RN job. She is only "required" (can take leave of absence at any time) to work 4 shifts a month to keep her position. She can also work 30 shifts a month if she so desires (she doesn't).

Work the first four days of the month, leave for the remainder of that month and the majority of the next month and come back and work 4 shifts the last 4 days of second month and her job doesn't bat an eye. Not quite 8 weeks off but close. No benefits though but even higher hourly pay than full time RNs

Wow- that's a great situation!

I could see getting a nursing degree, I think I could do it in 2 years or less and healthcare has always appealed to me. Thanks!

How about real estate agent? Work tends to slow down around the holidays and you mostly get you own clients with large payouts. You can also partner up with other agents which can give you some flex time.
