A server or bartender in the right location can make $30/hour easy. I did.

I currently make $30 an hour dealing with raw sewage, residential waste, industrial waste, and commercial waste. It's far from being glamorous but it's not really as bad as most people probably think it is. Once you get used to the various aromas, you're golden. With that said, earning that type of pay doesn't come without having experience.

A good farrier can make much more than $30/hr. Of course that is a self employed job and has to take into account taxes, insurance the cost of a vehicle, equipment and travel time. Still very skilled horseshoers can make a very good living.

a very skilled basketball player can play with a ball and get paid very well as well...

saying a skilled X can make a good living is pointless, we all know that

You can lower that to $50K if you count fringe benefits. Some places, that can be around $10K per employee

Building Engineer 3 where I work pays more than $30 an hour. Starting pay is $34 I think. Then again you need to have at least 5 years experience in the facility field. Also it may depend on location. I don't know if the job would pay the same in the mid west.

Elevator Technician pays $50 an hour. These are people that repair and rebuild elevators. You need to put the time in to learn the trade.

Locksmith can make $30 and more an hour when they are on the job. Need to learn the trade though. On a sideline business I charge $50 an hour and can line up 3 or 4 side jobs a week just for fun. I can imagine if I was running my own business I could make more. Still it would take a few bucks to start out and chances are I would need to leave the hospital to build the business. I like what I am doing at the hospital and I make a lot more than $30 an hour, have insurance, retirement, over 5 weeks of paid time off a year.

Jobs in the medical or IT fields generally do but may require more education.
