One job I can't say for certain, but the other 9 jobs I've quit all continued the direct deposit for my last paycheck. We are talking a pretty wide variety of jobs and in multiple states.

I left a job this year and my last check and final leave payouts were both via direct deposit. I think these days employers don't want to have to worry about whether the money gets to you, especially in situations where you might be moving to a new address and might not have a new place set up yet. There's absolutely no reason why your bank account shouldn't work, though.

Some might view it as somewhat rude, it's possible that your former boss might be slightly annoyed. Neither of those things creates an obligation on your behalf.

Would they call the OP back if they fired the OP and he/she was calling them to ask why? NOPE.

"Never burn bridges" That's fine if they treated you well. If they didn't, they're the ones that burned the bridge.
