I would love to see how the stats break down in terms of people's vocations. Judging by all of the anger, suspicion, and bashing of employers it would appear that most who come here are disgruntled worker bees.

Based on posts, there seems to be very few CEO's, business owners, or successful entrepreneurs. (I guess that would make sense... they're busy running their business and prioritizing their time.) But there are tons of people who complain a lot and seem to have an "anti-authority agenda".

I tried to find another thread or survey on this but struck out. Any ideas?

Internet forums are echo chambers of disgruntled people, if they were happy why would they post to complain?

Traditional internet forums like CD tend to run more affluent and educated. But of course that group can be just as disgruntled as anyone else.

If we didn't have opinions to offer, I'm sure most of us wouldn't post here.

I started out as an hourly employee, moved into management for a few years and am now a salaried specialist. I'm the only person at my employer who does what I do. I've worked with and supervised good workers and bad workers. I've hired people and had people who worked for me retire and leave for other jobs. In the workplace, I share my opinions and insight with my manager when it's appropriate and I try to make sure it's welcome when I do.

I agree that most of the posters in this forum are the worker bees. But that makes sense because the CEO's don't have these kind of problems or need our advice. They are the boss and above all of this and probably would never think to look online in a forum for advice anyway. There are some management types and business owners on here and it is good to get their perspective.

Live in Ohio and commute to work in Georgia.

It isn't as bad as it sounds it's 3 weeks in Ohio followed by two weeks in Georgia and back to Ohio for 3 weeks and so on.

I'm 68, close to 69, and I don't think I'll ever retire because it's fun.

There are more "yes men" corporate apologists here than those that except reality

this forum mainly seems to be a place to complain...people who are CEOs aka top 1% usually dont have whole lot to complain about. Why would they come here? to complain about the people that work FOR them?

I don't usually complain too much

I started out hourly on the shop floor and have worked in manufacturing in a variety of roles for 25 years.

I've worked in quality control, as a machinist, production supervisor, HR manager, and currently as a plant operations manager. I worked a couple of years in retail and a couple of years in corrections (ugh). Neither retail or corrections was for me!

I'm okay with my job most of the time. It's not what I originally wanted to do but it's not the worst job in the world and I'm thankful to have a job.

I'm in PA and 47 years old.
