To explicitly ask a co worker how much they weigh?
I got a medical form today (We all did) and it asked if we had any medical conditions to declare then underneath asked what our weight was. I am not happy disclosing that and feel it is wrong to ask outright.
We have employment health screenings at work (all voluntary) and the form has a section for weight.
It can be illegal to ask weight on a job application or during the interview, but nothing says you can't ask about or mention weight when you are already employed.
I once worked in a place where they asked all employees how much they weighed. Turns out, they were doing a feasibility study about putting in a small gym.
It never happened. Several people walked the perimeter of the parking lot at lunch hour and others belonged to an outside gym. Some said they probably wouldn't utilize the facility.
When I was teaching we were required to fill out a health form so the system could declare which schools were "unhealthy" and implement wellness programs. It was a two year grant program and went away after that was over.
