Yes they were whispering right beside me - 3 ft away.
I've only been at my job for a few months. So I'm still getting to know many of my colleagues. The other day I overheard one of them make a comment about my engagement ring. She whispered "Did you see that ring? I bet her husband had to sell his kidney to afford that". You could say it made me uncomfortable. I can hear everything so when people think they're whispering I can usually understand what they're saying. Now every time I'm around this woman I catch her staring at my hand. The next time I catch her should I say something?
