I will be entering freshman year in college college and don't really know what I want to do with my life. I think I would like to work in healthcare. I feel that it is a very stable profession and always in demand, recession proof, plus I enjoy helping people. Considering time, investment, future outlook of the profession, debt, money, what career do you think is worth it? and why? Just curious on people's opinions which will hopefully give me a sense of direction where I can start researching more.

If you are interested in salary and job security, then MD no question. There's no more secure, portable, and consistently lucrative job out there, bar none.

The thought of spending 11 years of my life working really hard, getting high marks, and studying all the time doesn't sound like something I would want in my life. I really value the concept of work to live than live to work.

Save this quote. Read it again. Shake your head and curse your younger self as 27 year old physicians boss you around and treat you like you are incompetent while you are in your 40's.
