Just about anyone can learn technical skills for tools like PowerPoint, Excel, SQL, Tableau, because they are accessible to the public and there are a variety of online tutorials available for one to indulge in. But some hiring managers want specific experience with enterprise suites that are not widely accessible to the public. So it would seem that the only way to get experience with such a tool is to work for a company that uses it. As is with any such catch-22, how do you get experience with it if you can’t get hired without the experience?
What are some suggestions for gaining technical experience with enterprise tools that the average Joe doesn’t have access to?

This is something I have just gone through with two new hires. The software we use is specialized and limited to about 500 organizations worldwide. Because of the cost and strict license agreements, the public is never able to even see a screenshot, just a description from the vendor's website. While experience with it would be nice, we realistically only require experience with a (any) database management/billing system and train the new people on the specifics of our system. The only way we would ever get someone with that experience is to poach them from another company using it in another state or country.
Agree with Hemlock. Those people are typically poached. If they can't find experienced people then you have to WOW the hiring manager with "equivalent" experience i.e. Sell yourself, fake it til you make it
