Hello,

I've been running into dead ends trying to talk to a real person, so maybe you can help!

Question 1: I have multiple jobs, one is a desk job, and the other two require me to stand and walk for 11 hours a day. The standing/walking job is a considerable amount of my monthly income. I have been cleared to work my desk job, but can't work the others yet after having knee surgery. Am I out of luck because I'm able to work one of my jobs, or can I receive continued SDI on the others that I can't work yet?

Question 2: For my other jobs (I'm a motorcycle instructor for the state sponsored program, but I technically work for multiple schools in the area,) there used to be 3 schools that I worked for, but one went out of business and the assets were bought by one of the other schools, so now there are 2. Can I still make an SDI claim and include the company that went out of business? I worked for them quite a bit during the two quarters that will be considered for my base pay.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I have a friend who can only work part-time, and she gets some state disability money.

I don't completely understand your question. But, state disability is based on whether or not you can work full-time, and if you have work credits within certain dates.

Just apply and be honest. Unless you're getting paid under the table, they already know about your jobs. Worst case, they turn you down. But, yes, you can work part-time and get SDI.

By the way, if your job possibly caused the knee injuries, you might have a workers comp claim.
