A bit confused here on how FSA works here...

Was recently laid off abruptly yesterday on 1/16. No 2 weeks, no notice, it's today is your last day, goodbye.
I was told my medical coverage would be valid & covered until end of month 1/31.

After some researching online, Google says I can still supposedly use my full FSA until "termination"? I called my FSA benefits company, and they said I can continue to use my FSA until the termination date reported by the company. I guess I'm confused - did my FSA end on 1/16 or will it end on 1/31?

Random facts - I have not signed any paperwork regarding my layoff, it's coming today or tomorrow, but they did said last day is effective 1/16 for payroll purposes (that is the last day I get paid). Also, company does offer COBRA insurance and they said they will let COBRA know my coverage expires on 1/31/18, and if I want to extend it will be after that date. Google says you can extend FSA via COBRA, but I can't extend anything with Cobra because I'm still covered until 1/31

The form you get from your ex-employers Plan admin re COBRA should look something like this one:
https://www.askallegiance.com/Docume...A_FSA_Form.pdf

It should explain all those details.
