Has anyone else left the sales industry after 10+ years? I have been in the med device field for quite some time and have done great financially. TBH, I am sick and tired of the rate race and stress that comes with a sales gig.
If you have left a high income sales position ($180k+) , Id like to hear what position/industry you went to, how its working out, and how you pursued that change in career/ lifestyle.
Get a sales management or sales executive position at a company that has a retail or sales component.
I've done sales management. I have no interest in managing sales people and making less money while doing so. If I am taking a pay cut it will be to get out of sales entirely.

Hi. What is your background? Age? Educational Level? Interests?
I went from sales to management consulting. If you'd like to know more, just send me a private message.
While I have not done what you ask, that is the kind of money a talented sales exec in IT can make in a Seattle consultancy. I will assume same must be true in other major markets. I have taken a pass on several jobs like that, as my personality is not quite right: intellectually I understand exactly what is needed to successfully sell, I've taken a small battery of tests, but my heart isn't in it. Know thyself! Maybe one day soon, though, because the money is very alluring. A consultancy director, or director of sales, could pull that in. And more. Potentially lots more.
I really like closely partnering with account execs, because they are usually, like me, somewhat technical but always high energy. I am an expert administrator, in contrast: the executor. They are expert relationship builders. The skills are cross-industry. If you have certain IT skills or have sold medical devices that have an IT component...I can think of one Seattle-based company that makes devices, starts with S....you "might" have an "in" to cross over into selling more consultancy-based services. Talk to your connections about that, I believe fellows like you are expert at quick conversations with peers in similar industries.

The jobs I'm talking about would be at least two management levels above the rank and file sales folks. Pay would be above $180k.
