i had to bump this. there are two women, that i am stuck in between (cubicles), who annoy me to no end. the one to the left comes into work high all the time and calls people by the wrong names (we work for the state so nobody cares). she eats (munchies/junk food) all day long and procedes to burp out loud and never excuses herself. i've also never seen a person get the hiccups as much as she does (i am sure it is from abusing the diaphram from all of the cigarette smoke, marijuana smoke, alcohol, and just general consumption of things such as junk food). she obviously wasn't raised right. she's 55 years old. also, she makes personal phone calls every day all day long and has people call her line constantly. and since she is a slack off, she's never around to pick it up so it just rings and rings. also, she calls off all the time (like once per week and has no shame about it).
the one to the right of me is a nice lady, 40 years old, but procedes to talk to herself out loud! it is so annoying. every now and then i'll be like, are you talking to me? and she'll be like, uh...no. got any advice on how to shut her up? she does this all day long. in fact, she's doing it right now!
i don't do anything to annoy others outright and obnoxiously (such as burp all day or talk to myself) because i was raised correctly. my other co-workers seem to have been raised correctly as well.

so funny, i can relate. when i carry my lunch from the microwave back to my desk i have to pass this one lady (she happens to be obese) and she is always staring down my food or asking me what i have in the bag. it's like a game i play. i'm always like, will today be the day i can get my food past the plump woman without her noticing?

Cubicle conversations. Where the person to the left of you carries on a conversation to the person to the right of you (so you are stuck in the middle) for like 10 to 15 minutes about trivial non-work related matters. it's so annoying!

Information hoarders....they get info from the boss and don't pass it on. Then you get to look stupid and they grin and say "Oh you didn't know?"
We have a section that we call the witchs coven...
We have:
The sickie...if there is a new disease out, she'll have it.
Drama Mama...Po Po pitiful me...also the "everybody is pickin on me momma"
The druggie...she takes a perscription for everything under the sun. It's well known that if you have an illness, you do NOT tell her what the Dr gave you because she'll want what's left.
Sad Sack...sits in her cubicle not speaking to anyone and if no one asks what's wrong within 30 minutes or so the sighing begins.."what's wrong?"
HUGH sigh..."nothing."
We call them the witches coven because they will all get together and talk about everybody else in the office. How everybody else gets special treatment.
I already know that I'm the standoffish one...I don't have time nor the energy for their nonsense

You sound like a very concerned and sensitive person.

I work in an office with 18 people. We are on 1 floor in a pretty small set up. I HATE when people ask "Where's John", Where's Pete. How the F am I supposed to know. Its not my turn to watch them.
