Haha! Love the way you describe that. What an accurate picture. Elbow to elbow. We call that the 'herd mentality'. Very silly & dorky.

We have an employee who drives a big pickup and he thinks it is perfectly fine to take up 2 parking spaces in the employee parking lot. That was fine when we had lots of spare spaces but we don't anymore and I finally said something to his manager about it.

Ahh... I have a corollary for that one.

Due to the already dog-poor design of the parking lot, it's a royal pain in the rear to see around the ends of the rows of cars so that you have to creep out and hope no one is barreling along and smashes into you. Well, isn't it fun when the guy with the massive stupid lifted F150 parks on the end and makes it even harder to see around the corners.

Seriously, we live in a city. Do you REALLY need that huge pickup to sit in an office building parking lot? It's too big to go offroading in, and I doubt that his workaholic bum is towing a boat in and out of the water every weekend. Just get a normal car, leave the truck at home, and you'll still have money left over from the gas savings.

Loud talkers, especially early in the morning. I should not hear you if I sit 3 rows away. People who leave their food in the fridge for weeks and then it spoils. Then it makes the fridge & the whole office smell.

Also, not to pick on smokers....But, I can't stand when people throw their cigarette butt (or any litter) in the parking lot. Come on people, the world is not your ashtray. Not too mention sometimes it is still lit. So in addition to it being a rude & nasty habit (I'm talking about the littering, the smoking is your business) it can also cause fires.

Also, why do people not flush the toilet. After doing your business turn around and not only flush the toilet, but check to make sure everything is cleared. No one wants to see your business when they go into the bathroom.

Wow, I feel better already. This list is so funny. Good idea OP.

Grow up--this is not first grade.

People who assume you should know what you are doing after being on the job a few days. People who compare you to 'old what's her name' who was awesome but never did another job in 25 years.

Gossip and 'she said' is my number one pet peeve. I have learned to 'say nothing' and 'trust no one.'

I agree! Mum's the word.

The fight starters are usually trouble makers who are able to convince management how wonderful they are.

I have taken a stance against gossip. If someone wants to gossip, I will just say Im not interested.

I used to work with some very religious people who were the worst gossipers. They brought their church stuff into work, bragged about what they did in their church.
But when they gossiped, it hurt my stomach so bad.
I used to bury my face in a book, because I could not believe how they would rip someone up so bad. I know they talked about me, because several times I walked into the room, and they stopped talking. I wondered what was so darn interesting about me.
I always used to wonder what their church was teaching them, because they were very self righteous. In fact, they called the company "we", not "us"....

Another nearby co-worker is as deaf as a post, and talks at the top of his lungs. He fashions himself as a wheeler-dealer type, tells off-color jokes to people he's chatting with on the phone, makes jokes about his wife, etc. His cell phone ring is the theme to "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly."

There's another one: cell phones. I should not be able to recognize everyone else's cell phone ringtones. No one around here has ever heard of the vibrate setting.

We get constant e-mails all day long which go to the entire office: Person X isn't coming in today; Person Y is out for the afternoon; Person A is thanking person B for his/her hard work, and then Persons C,D,E and F all add their thanks in separate e-mails. Argh.

Hate that. Sounds like these people aren't really busy doing much, just trying to look involved.
I hate the ones who have to share all their business with everyone. And like the OP said, the ones who say they smell something.
I hate those types.
"Does someone have perfume on?"
Or the ones who are obsessed with what you bring for lunch.
Are people becoming more stupid or something? What's with all this mindlessness?

Someone may have commented on this, but: replacing the toilet paper roll.

It's gotten to the point where I'm going to create a chart documenting the number of times I replace the toilet paper. For the one time I use the restroom every day vs 20 or so employees, the odds are just so staggering it's become somewhat of a personal joke. Once the chart has enough data, I'm going to post it anonymously on the wall beside the toilet.
