While at work, when I take my break, I stroll around the city and greet people. Buy food for someone who needs it. Offer directions to someone who may be lost. When I'm back at work, I ask a co-worker if they need help with anything. Assisting others helps me focus less on my perceived problems. Reminds me that there is a whole other world.
I'm referring to bad days during the week and not on the day before your days off. Those are easier. I usually take a long shower, remind myself that tomorrow is another day and tell myself I can choose to start tomorrow fresh instead of bringing the negativity in.
What do you do?
I'm retired, now. But I had a high stress job and had some bad days. If they were really bad, I might cry a bit & feel sorry for myself...get it out of the system.
I would do some easy aerobics or something...I had a lot of exercise DVDs.
I would eat something healthy at home...stir fry, maybe.
I had a jacuzzi years ago...that was super relaxing.
Hug my pets. Pets are the best for bad days. If it wasn't dark, I might walk the dogs. That's relaxing to me, if it's not too hot.
Not saying there is anything wrong with having an alcoholic beverage after a long hard day, but to see how many people turn to booze as a form of relaxation after a hard days work is a bit sad.
